يعيش محمد حسن مع والدته فى حى فقير، وهو عامل خراطة بالغ المهارة، لكن 
طموحاته تدفعه ليغامر بالسفر إلى ألمانيا للعمل فى مصانعها. يركب السفينة إلى أوربا 
وهو لايعرف كلمة أجنبية واحدة. ويبدأ طريق النجاح، يعانى محمد من عامل ألمانى لا 
يحبه، حيث يدبر اتلاف الآلة التى يعمل عليها محمد. فيقرر المصنع الاستغناء عنه 
وفصله ويبدأ من الصفر. يشتهر فى مجال السباكة حيث يخترع آلة جديدة، كما يشتهر
فى مجال الرياضة حيث يبرز كملاكم عنيد وتقف بجانبه جارته الألمانية آبى التى 
يدفعها حنينها لمصر التى عاشت فيها مع والدها عندما كان يعمل بمصنع السكر فى 
مصر. لكن أباها يهدده بطرده من ألمانيا، لكن آبى تصر على الوقوف إلى جانبه وكذلك 
مردبه اليونانى توسكا والذى عاش فترة فى مصر ويتكلم العربية ويؤمن بموهبة 
محمد فى الملاكمة ويحقق الشاب حلمه حين يفوز فى الملاكمة ويطلقون عليه اسم 
النمر الأسود، كما ينجح اختراعه، ويتزوج من آبى.
